To reference cells in a spreadsheet

  1. Type a = to indicate that you are inserting a formula A string of symbols used to determine a specific result.. The Formula Tools appear.

  2. Click on the cell A section of a table that you insert your information into. Every table is divided up into cells. you want to reference. The cell reference appears in the cell where you are inserting the formula.

Note:

You can reference the cell manually by typing the cell grid reference, i.e. the column letter and row number of the cell you want to reference.
